Efforts to galvanize unity among the akurinu churches started early in the 70s, with the formation of AACA, akurinu women conference, later the AYC, then the ASF (now ASA) and later the AAMSF in the 90s which culminated in the birth of the general conference. General conference was birthed on 27th Feb 2016 at a national leaders forum where all leaders unanimously agreed to forge a united front regardless of their earlier affiliations. The national steering committee was endorsed to pave the way forward for the formation of the general conference. Later in the year the general conference hosted its first ever national conference at kasarani stadium which was attended by over 50,000 akurinu faithful.
General conference success stands on the many previous and tireless efforts of our dedicated leaders and servants of God who have persistency called for the honoring God’s call for unity. When delegates met at the Utalii national leaders’ summit. Above they hang on the shoulders of AACA and AAMSF over the decades akurinu unity has been an elusive dream, its attainment through the general conference has quenched the thirst of many, another important precursor organization was the aroti apostolic, headed by bishop nabii Samuel. Since the inception akurinu has become radically integrated with membership growing steadily. And the community coming out in distinctive ways. Today there are over 800 registered churches represented and about 2500 congregations.
The main focus in our activities is unity, prayers, support for church ministers, church empowerment, community empowerment, perceptions change and redeeming the image of the church in the society, education. Specific and innovative ways of addressing the concerns of the community nationally.
